FRESH works with young people to increase their impact in the community. We help youth find and develop their voice in order to create a more sustainable and just food system.
Applications for the Spring Program are now open!
This program will run 8 weeks beginning the week of NLHS’ Spring Break (April 12th) and ending on the 31st of May. This year’s theme for the Spring is storytelling through food; the program will culminate in a final project where youth will be designing & planting out a garden bed inspired by a meal that means something to them. You’ll get to help run our two annual plant sales, enjoy interactive workshops around our theme, and more! There is a stipend as compensation at the close of the program.

This application is due on March 15th, and interviews will be held on Saturday, 3/25 from 1:30 to 3pm and on Wednesday, 3/29 from 3 to 5pm. Once you submit, Chloë will be in contact with you for next steps.

Agriculture
Youth help us grow food at our urban gardens. From seed to sale, they are involved every step of the way, learning about the wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruit that we grow. Crops are all sold and donated throughout our community.

Leading the Community
We are committed to giving youth the tools they need to be leaders in making food system change. Our youth programs include opportunities to build and practice leadership, such as teaching younger children and advocating through public presentations.
