CSA

WHAT IS THE CSA?

The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a weekly distribution of sustainably grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to individuals and families in New London. All of the food is grown by FRESH New London staff and youth crew and Connecticut College’s Sprout Club; it’s a great way for our young people to learn the process of growing food from seed to harvest and distribution, and for us to connect with our community!

We grow a big variety of vegetables and herbs (and a few fruits), including collards, squash, tomatoes, and more, and we are always looking for feedback about what foods people are interested in receiving. Cultivating culturally relevant crops is very important to us – what would you like to see us produce?

We believe that everyone has the right to have access to healthy, culturally appropriate, fresh food that was grown with respect for the people and land involved. We offer our CSA shares at sliding scale prices, and just ask that those of you that can afford to pay the market rate, please do! It helps us pay our youth crew a fair wage and share food across more families in New London.
